We offer overdraft protection for all of our present members who have a Checking Account. This allows the credit union to automatically transfer any available funds from your Share Deposit Account or Money Market Account to your Checking Account to cover any checks presented to the credit union for payment which would otherwise be returned for insufficient funds. You will be charged a $1.00 service fee for any transfer that is made regardless of whether it covers one check or several checks in any one day. If you wish to have your account set up for overdraft protection, check the yes box on the checking account application and sign and submit this form with the application.
Direct Deposit
Provided that your place-of-employment offers Direct Deposit, you may have your paycheck (less taxes and other deductions) automatically transmitted to your City of Boston Credit Union Account. The Direct Deposit program is an easy way to make sure your pay is deposited into your account promptly, hassle-free.
The Direct Deposit Program may also be used for Social Security and other benefit/pension checks. This is in light of the January 1999 federal law that requires all individuals receiving US Government checks to start having their payments directly deposited. However, City of Boston Credit Union's Direct Deposit program is not mandatory.
Although Direct Deposit of federal payments is strictly voluntary, it remains the best payment method in terms of security and convenience. Contact us today to get your Direct Deposit started!
As an added bonus, members with Direct Deposit of their payroll check into a City of Boston Credit Union account receive free ATM withdrawals at all CBCU ATMs and surcharge-free SUM Program.
