Our Privacy Pledge to You

As our member you provide us with important information about yourself. We believe it is our responsibility to safeguard your personal and financial information. We want you to be aware of our policies with respect to the disclosure of nonpublic personal information that we have collected from you or others in connection with the financial products and services that we provide to you. We recognize that the confidentiality of this information is extremely important to you and we hope that the information in this notice will assure you that we keep this information confidential.

Notice of Your Financial Privacy Rights

We, our, and us, when used in this notice, means City of Boston Credit Union

When we use the words "you" and "your" we mean the following types of members:

  • Our consumer members who have a continuing relationship by purchasing or holding financial products or services such as a(n):
  • Share Account
  • Loan Account
  • Safe deposit box
  • Self-directed Individual Retirement account
  • Mortgage brokerage services

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  1. Information we receive from you on applications or other forms;
  2. Information concerning your transactions with us or our affiliates, and
  3. Information we receive from any consumer reporting agency.

Information We Disclose About You

We will not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you while you are our member or thereafter, except: (1) as permitted by law; (2) the member requests it; (3) the information is provided to help complete a member-initiated transaction; or (4) the member has been informed about the possibility of such disclosure for marketing or similar purposes through a prior communication and is given the opportunity to decline (i .e., "opt out"). Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records.

If personally-identifiable member information is provided to a third party, it is the policy of City of Boston Credit Union to insist that the third party adhere to similar privacy principles that provide for keeping such information confidential.

The Confidentiality, Security, and Integrity of Your Information

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those of our employees who need to know that information in order to provide financial products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
